Service Workers Essential Functions:
Facilitates communications among caregivers, patients and visitors to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information
Performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care delivery
Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls or takes messages and process requests
Faxes and photocopies information as requested by staff
Processes requests for medical record for walk-in patients and faxed requests
Check M Modal hold queue daily and release reports as needed
Check Med Host auto fax daily and refax reports as needed
Operational person for M Modal functions and searches
Scan patient records/reports using batch scanner and/or document scanner
Maintains and protects the confidentiality of patient information and position-acquired information
Participated in continuing education programs and in services to enhance knowledge
Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
Three to six months related experience to learn medical record procedures and specialized terminology. Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
