Job Description

Administrative Service Specialist I – Air Monitoring (Health Services) 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 1826 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN 38134 Position Summary This position is funded by a grant for a duration of time as defined by the grantor. Performs a higher level of clerical work in scheduling, analyzing, processing, and maintaining complex confidential, technical, environmental, and legal reports and records with wide latitude for exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Pay Grade:

45 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, customer service, environmental project work, or statistical work; AND 2. High school diploma or possess a GED; OR 3. Two (2) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, customer service, environmental project work, or statistical work and two (2) years of college study (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university. 4.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Fulfills internal and external data requests, ensuring that consumers receive requested data on time. 2. Provides data support and technical assistance to Environmental Health staff. 3. Prepares descriptive and analytical reports, fact sheets, and presentations. 4. Performs data entry, composes letters, memoranda, and reports. 5. Communicates professionally with customers. 6. Receives, reviews, and processes records, reports, and other documents. 7. Manages public notice comments and inquiries, providing appropriate responses with guidance from the air permitting team. 8. Collaborates frequently with internal and external colleagues on assigned tasks. 9. Prepares travel arrangements for meetings and training for all personnel of the Major Sources Branch. 10. Maintains an adequate supply of office supplies and equipment. 11. Performs other related duties as required or directed. KSAs 1. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; skilled in operating office equipment. 2. Excellent time management and organizational skills. 3. Ability to process and proofread documents, including correspondence and reports. 4. Ability to deal professionally with the public, management, and co-workers and establish and maintain effective working relationships. 5. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, verbally and in writing. 6. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and other County’s software applications. Special Requirements 1. Work may require travel to locations outside of the office. 2. Must be able to type 25 words per minute.
