Finance Services Administrative Assistant 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Burlington, VT Position Summary Adecco is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Financial Transaction Specialist to support our client’s faculty, staff, and students. In this critical role, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining a wide range of financial transactions and administrative processes. This includes purchase requisitions, credit card reconciliations, non-PO payments, expense reimbursements, journal entries, accounts receivable, and deposit tracking. You’ll also provide outstanding customer service, manage digital documentation in a shared environment, and maintain essential departmental communication tools such as shared email accounts and collaborative Excel files. A strong understanding of various funding sources—including general funds, gifts, endowments, contracts, and grants—is crucial, along with a solid grasp of compliance standards and institutional policies. We are looking for someone who thrives both independently and, in a team, is highly organized and has a passion for accuracy and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Process and review financial transactions in compliance with university policies and procedures. Accurately maintain records and documentation in shared electronic filing systems. Utilize shared department tools including Excel spreadsheets and email accounts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify and process financial requests. Support proper use and tracking of multiple funding sources. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and support audit-readiness. Serve as a resource to team members by reviewing and providing constructive feedback on transaction processing. Provide cross-coverage and support during staff absences or peak periods.
Desired Skills & Qualifications Experience:
Entry-to-advanced level experience with financial transactions and administrative tasks.
Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on follow-up and clarity.
Process-Oriented:
Ability to comprehend, follow, and value standardized procedures.
Independence:
Self-starter with the initiative to solve problems and the judgment to escalate when appropriate.

Pay Details:
