____________________________________________________________ Job Summary Performs a variety of duties on behalf of Meriwether County Animal Services; a position that contributes to promoting the humane treatment of companion animals through protection, placement, education, and example. Must be self-motivated, willing to learn, a team player, dependable, and able to multi-task. Responsible for the general care and maintenance of all animals at the Meriwether County Animal Shelter, as well as assisting with the promotion of adoption through social media. Duties will include a willingness to learn and assist with all aspects of shelter operations, including cleaning, animal control officer responsibilities, facilitating adoptions, and general office tasks. Must be courteous and professional. Essential Functions The Office Administrator is responsible for answering the telephone, performing adoptions by having knowledge of the animals in the shelter, showing the animals to potential adopters and completing the adoption process. Updating and entering essential animal information in PetPoint OS, including new arrivals, vaccine records, spay and neuter surgeries and examinations, and maintaining a daily roster record. Additional Responsibilities Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skill & Abilities Required for Job Performance Ability to work well with cats and dogs. Previous experience with animals. Valid driver’s license, minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Requires leading dogs on a leash, some lifting of up to 50 lbs, some walking, bending, kneeling, or standing.
