STARBASE LSUA Warrior Director SUMMARY:

The office manager is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and coordinating office operations and procedures that provide organizational effectiveness and efficiency, all while performing in a manner that fully supports, directly or indirectly, the inspiration of students and creates memorable, positive learning experiences at Fort Johnson.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum of a High School Degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in an office setting, preferably in an administrative or clerical role. Experience in elementary education setting preferred. 3. Skill and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 4. Proficient with office technology software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Easily adaptable and capable of learning new technological systems and software quickly. 5. Excellent organizational, administrative, problem-solving, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities 6. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach. 7. Demonstrates ability to exercise self-motivation and to work effectively both independently and cooperatively under minimal supervision. 8. Ability to analyze data to make decisions. 9. Ability to work as a team member.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Assists in the overall day-to-day duties as requested by the director and deputy director. 2. Performs clerical duties including copying, processing incoming shipments, scheduling volunteers (guest speakers/ tours) and maintaining files. 3. Manages the reception area and all correspondence including phone calls, electronic mail, and mail. 4. Prepares/modifies and maintains classroom files as requested by director and deputy director. 5. In conjunction with the director and deputy director, develops and maintains yearly work calendars and yearly school calendars. 6. Coordinates the scheduling of attending classrooms and maintain modifications to schedule, promptly notifying staff as changes occur. 7. Prepares and mails visiting classroom packets (forms), clearly and professionally communicating with visiting teachers as questions, comments, or concerns arise. 8. Maintains, through direct input and/or changes/corrections, including certificates, attendance lists, class lists, alpha lists, and name badges; provides all generated materials to the necessary staff members in a timely, efficient manner. 9. Inputs and maintains data for student, teacher, and parental assessments. 10. Monitors and orders supplies and equipment as approved by director. 11. Assists director and deputy director in maintaining control and inventory of equipment and supplies purchased with DoD

Program funds. 12. Assists with and maintains registration and processing of summer academies when needed. 13. Maintains a strong working relationship with program staff, including teachers, administrative assistants, contract employees, volunteers and military personnel assigned to additional duties in support of

STARBASE. 14.

Provide classroom instruction with the appropriate educational credentials when needed 14. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
