This multi-faceted role is crucial to our daily operations, serving as the backbone of our administrative, financial, and human resources functions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a smooth and efficient office environment.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping (Primary Role): Manage all accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions using QuickBooks Online. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.

HR Management:

Maintain comprehensive and accurate employee records. Provide support for the weekly payroll process. Assist employees with benefits navigation and inquiries. Serve as the primary liaison with benefits providers (e.g., BCBS, Redwing). Interface with state agencies such as Mass Unemployment and Child Support as needed. Reception (Limited): Answer incoming phone calls (approximately 5 per day). Receive and distribute shipments and mail. Greet and assist occasional visitors.

Office & Event Coordination:

Organize and coordinate office events, such as lunches and outings (approximately once per month).

Safety Program Leadership:

Lead and maintain the shop’s safety program. Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Oversee Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory and distribution.

Basic Purchasing:

Support basic office and shop purchasing needs, including PPE.

Qualifications:

Proven experience with bookkeeping, specifically using QuickBooks Online. Experience with HR functions, including payroll and employee record maintenance. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with safety programs or a willingness to learn and lead safety initiatives.

Pay Band:

$27 – $28 per hour
