OFFICE MANAGER
B’nai Israel Congregation, located just minutes from downtown Wilmington NC, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and experienced individual to join our administrative team. Primary responsibilities include communications and playing a key role in a variety of administrative projects. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and works collaboratively with others. Must be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision and has a strong aptitude for technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Most important, our candidate should demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude. Responsibilities
- Answer phone and to email inquiries
- Maintain database of congregant information through Shulcloud, the membership database/app
- Creating weekly communications including congregational emails, communications and programming updates
- Creating and coordinating all Hebrew School & Tot Program calendar updates and communications
- Maintain Synagogue calendar of events
- Support events and programs with lay leaders and volunteers
- Coordination of holiday activities with Rabbi and lay leaders
- Send thank you letters, running occasional errands, ordering food and supplies

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be organized, able to multi-task with keen attention to details.
- Experience in project and event organizing
- Strong ability to manage calendars, learn and use database systems and organize information; proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Drive, Word Press, Publisher, Canva
- Strong problem-solving instincts and initiative
- Ability to work independently
- Associates or comparable college degree preferred Physical Requirements This position requires that one can comfortably use a keyboard and mouse, work at computer for long periods, run occasional errands, and lift up to 20 lbs.
Job Type:
40 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Work Location is onsite at B’nai Israel Synagogue in Wilmington, NC. Compensation Hourly Rate is commensurate with experience.
