This position plays a critical role in managing the transactional and procedural functions of the Business Office and supports administration, faculty, staff, and families. $60-$70K DOE Business Office Manager – Buffalo, NY A well-established school is seeking an experienced Business Office Manager to lead daily financial operations. This position plays a critical role in managing the transactional and procedural functions of the Business Office and supports administration, faculty, staff, and families. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can operate with discretion and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Manage student billing, contracts, and receivables Post tuition and supplemental program charges (after-school, camps, events) Process ACH drafts, online payments, and deposits Communicate with families regarding account status and delinquencies Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices, maintain records, and manage disbursements Reconcile school credit card and Amazon transactions Maintain 1099s, W-9s, insurance certs, and tax-exempt documentation Payroll & Benefits (via ADP) Bi-monthly payroll processing (salary, hourly, stipends, bonuses) Administer payroll deductions, 403(b), FSA/HSA contributions Produce W2s, 1095-Cs, 941 reconciliations, audit reports Serve as primary employee contact for payroll and benefit inquiries Human Resources Support Assist with onboarding, benefits enrollment, and exit procedures Maintain compliance-related documentation (background checks, trainings, etc.) Conduct benefit education and support open enrollment Banking & Financial Operations Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger Monitor cash flow and process internal transfers Soft-close financial systems monthly and assist in annual audit preparation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 5 years experience in a business office or similar environment Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll systems Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally Work Schedule Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (onsite) Compensation 60-70k (Depending on experience) IND123
