POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Medicaid Specialist supports and develops the Business Office staff of communities to ensure the timely and accurate Revenue Cycle Process as it relates to Medicaid Pending. Communicates with Skilled Nursing Facilities. Develops, supports and assists communities in relation to Business Office functions while adhering to all applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct and HIPAA. The Field Medicaid Specialist works in conjunction with and supports the Revenue Cycle Department as it relates to Medicaid Pending.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
Must have knowledge of Medicaid. Answer and respond to inquiries by communities and management teams of the communities in a timely manner. Consults with and advises Administrators of communities and Divisional Directors with respect to interviewing, training, directing, appraising, planning the work of, as well as determining the techniques of employees in the Business Office of the communities, including the Business Office Manager. Complete and/or attend all the training and education as assigned and as otherwise required by the Company, management, applicable law, rule, and/or regulations. Maintain confidential information. Be trusted to keep all confidential payroll data safe and secure. Ability to communicate in a positive manner, with tact, professionally, effectively, and efficiently with communities, management, agencies and other members of the Company. Support the communities with all the revenue cycle inquiries including knowledge and awareness of Revenue Cycle support. Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct, Business Ethics policy, HIPAA privacy and Security policies, Corporate and department policies and procedures, including documentation and reporting responsibilities. Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, support agencies, and community staff in the performance of duties. Ability to work the requirements of the position/assignment, with ability to travel. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and analyze systems and processes. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and exercise discretion. Must be honest, dependable and exhibit a warm, cheerful, respectful and caring manner. Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and management. Open to working beyond normal business hours, when necessary and approved by the Company. Ability to work in fast paced environments.
Experience:
Must possess knowledge of Medicaid eligibility requirements, from the application through the appeal process. Must have minimum 2 years Long-Term Care/ Skilled Nursing experience as it relates to the Revenue Cycle. Must have BOM experience. Previous management experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; experience with Matrix preferred.
