Church Office Manager Salem UMC Manheim, PA 17545 Job Summary The Church Office Manager serves as the administrative hub of Salem, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective communication within the congregation and community. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a welcoming presence to support the church’s mission and ministries. Primary Responsibilities Administrative & Office Management Oversee daily office operations, including managing phone calls, walk-ins, emails, and correspondence. Maintain church records, databases, and official documents (e.g., membership, baptisms, weddings, funerals). Prepare bulletins, newsletters, and worship materials. Manage church calendar, scheduling events, meetings, and facility use. Order and maintain office supplies and equipment. Communication & Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for church members, visitors, and community partners. Facilitate communication between church leadership, staff, and congregation. Manage church social media, website updates, and email communications. Support the coordination of volunteers and ministry teams. Facility & Logistics Management Coordinate facility maintenance and oversee custodial needs. Manage building use agreements for internal ministries and external groups. Ensure church office security and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Qualifications & Skills Commitment to the mission and values of Salem United Methodist Church. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and church management software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with church staff and volunteers. Experience in an administrative, customer service, or church-related role preferred. Working Conditions Office environment within a church setting. Some evening and weekend availability may be required for special events. Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials.
