JOB SUMMARY

Clemson University’s Brook T. Smith Launchpad is looking for an Office Manager to fulfill the following duties: Provides office management, administrative support, event management and planning, and program coordination for the Clemson University Brook T. Smith Launchpad, Clemson’s Entrepreneurial Hub. Serves as the main point of contact for the Director of the Brook T. Smith Launchpad and ambassador for all the students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, mentors, contractors, maintenance workers, community members, and other stakeholders who visit the Launchpad. Serves as the HR liaison for the Launchpad, working closely with the Director and the Office of Human Resources to ensure compliance with all HR policies and practices. Performs other duties as assigned. ABOUT | Brook T. Smith LaunchPad The Brook T. Smith LaunchPad is a first-of-its-kind Clemson program designed to help students, faculty, staff, and alumni succeed in constructing maintainable and expandable for-profit, nonprofit and social entrepreneurial ventures. By providing a range of support programs and resources, including workspace, network and educational opportunities, mentoring and training, the Accelerator will support entrepreneurship

Located in Downtown Clemson, the 8,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Launchpad will support interdisciplinary collaboration and bring on-campus organizations, entrepreneurial alumni and funding sources together, while cultivating entrepreneurial thinking, ethical leadership skills and inventive research that will equip students to drive innovation and impact global businesses.

Program Support:

Leads the administrative support to Director of the Launchpad program. Areas of support include website maintenance, calendar management, scheduling meetings & events, designing and developing materials for meetings & events, expense reimbursements, coordinating travel, procurement and management of supplies, invoices, managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, photocopying and management of photocopiers, scanning, filing, maintenance requests for facility, onboarding & HR requirements including OnBase Performance & Hiring. 30%

  • Customer Management:

    Welcomes and manages reception area for all visitors and callers. Manages and coordinates all inquiries from visitors, both internal and external, as well as directs all visitors to the appropriate contact for all meetings and events within the program. Ensures efficient operation of facility and activities. Provides guidance to staff concerning program issues. 20%

Operations Coordination:

Assists Director and other managers with developmental and administrative tasks for interns, symposiums, seminars, summer camps, boot camps, competitions, social events, and study tours. Serves as point person for room scheduling. Attends and assists with Launchpad events as needed.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range:

Band 06 ($ 47,588.00

00) Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines .

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
