We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Property Management Accountant to join our growing team and help drive financial accuracy and accountability across our portfolio. Job Overview The Property Management Accountant will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our property management division. This includes bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, monthly and annual financial statements, vendor management, and preparation for tax filing. This is a critical role that ensures financial clarity and operational excellence across multiple properties and business entities. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting Handle full-cycle accounting for property management activities. Record and reconcile transactions across multiple accounts, including Operating, Escrow, and Profits. Maintain general ledgers and ensure financial data integrity. Prepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss statements. Financial Reporting Generate and distribute monthly owner statements and financial reports. Assist in tax preparation by maintaining accurate, organized financial records for CPA handoff. Monitor cash flow, track income and expenses by property/unit/job. Vendor & Owner Payments Review and process vendor invoices; ensure timely and accurate payments. Manage recurring bills, utilities, and service provider payments. Facilitate owner distributions and employee payments as scheduled. Compliance & Support Prepare 1099s for vendors and contractors. Support internal controls, policy adherence, and document retention. Assist in audits and year-end financial reviews. Requirements 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (preferably in property management or real estate). Solid understanding of AP/AR, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statements. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Self-starter who can work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AppFolio , QuickBooks , and/or JobTread (strongly preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Familiarity with property-level and job-based P&L tracking. Understanding of real estate investment or construction accounting is a plus.
