RCA Rural Carrier Associate 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 201 N 3rd St, Smithfield, NC 27577 Job Summary The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of managing various tasks related to mail delivery, customer service, and route driving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service while adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines. Responsibilities Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner. Load and unload mail and parcels from delivery vehicles. Operate a vehicle safely while following all traffic regulations. Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with customers during deliveries. Perform heavy lifting as required when handling packages and mail. Utilize equipment such as hand trucks for moving heavy items when necessary. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including sorting and organizing mail. Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained. Qualifications Must possess a vehicle that can be driven for mail delivery. This vehicle must be free of consoles and gearshifts in the middle, or must have at the very minimum a pedal conversion to operate gas and brake from passenger’s side Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks regularly throughout the day. Familiarity with route driving and navigation in rural areas is advantageous. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
