Rural Carrier Associate United States Postal Service Four Oaks NC 107 East North Railroad Street, Four Oaks, NC 27524 Overview The Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires you to have a reliable vehicle that you can drive from the passenger side or middle to service mailboxes out the passenger window. This position requires a commitment to timely customer service and the ability to navigate various routes while adhering to safety standards. The RCA will be responsible for operating your personally owned delivery vehicle, handling mail, and providing excellent service to customers in the community. Duties Ability to work every Saturday, some Sundays and Holidays. Operate your personally owned and maintained delivery vehicle(s), ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. Providing a personally owned vehicle(s) that you can operate from sitting in the passenger seat or middle of the vehicle and service mailboxes out the passenger side window. Load and unload mail and packages weighing up to 70lbs. Physical and Mental endurance to work up to 11 hour days if needed. Deliver mail and packages along designated rural routes in a timely and accurate manner. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to deliveries. Perform route driving duties, which may include navigating unfamiliar areas and adjusting routes as needed due to road conditions or other factors. Handle heavy lifting of packages and mail items as required during deliveries. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure all mail is accounted for at the end of each shift. Assist with casing duties, including sorting mail and preparing items for delivery. Qualifications Familiarity with route driving and navigating rural areas is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with a focus on maintaining positive community relations. Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the role. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and Holidays. Vehicle that is reliable and capable of delivery to mailboxes.
