Job Description

Primary purpose of Administrative Specialist I – Mail Room Clerk supports the Controller’s Office through a variety of administrative and operational responsibilities. Employee manages all mailroom operations for the DAC Bush Street Complex, including sorting, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries. Clear, professional communication with staff, vendors, and the public is essential in these duties. The role may include special projects assigned by the supervisor, accounting director, assistant controller, controller, or other agency leadership. Job duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: Serves as the Fixed Asset Coordinator, maintaining accurate asset records and submitting the Controller’s Office annual Asset Report in accordance with agency requirements Process E-595E Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Exemption forms and incoming credit applications Ordering and maintaining supplies for the Controller’s Office, processing orders through the agency’s central supply warehouse and approved state contracts and maintaining the inventory and supply database Monitoring records retention, and coordinates the archiving and secure destruction of records, ensuring compliance with agency retention schedules and policies Provides backup support to the receptionist, including answering the main switchboard and controlling visitor access to the building
