Process and meter outgoing mail and packages, as well as manual fulfillment and handwork. Use software to import, code and presort mailing lists. Enter and submit appropriate U.S. Postal Service documentation. Process different classes of mail with correct postage amounts. Inbound scan and process incoming packages for delivery to intelligent package lockers or to departmental delivery locations. Deliver mail and packages to various locations on campus and the USPS. Process Standard (Bulk) and individual outgoing mail from university departments to domestic and foreign areas that require postage and/or special mailing classifications. Set up, operate and maintain mail processing equipment such as inkjet addressing systems, labelers, mail inserter, tabbers, and folders. Complete USPS postal documentation and submit mail.dat files to USPS via the Business Customer Gateway. Obtain, expand, and exercise detailed knowledge of USPS rates and regulations. Determine optimum postage rates for bulk rate mailing. Prepare letter and flat mail for submission to local presort vendor. Scan and log all inbound packages for faculty, staff and students from all major carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) into the package tracking system. Reserve student packages to the intelligent locker system. Deliver student packages to lockers as needed. Deliver overflow, oversize and perishable packages for students in University Housing to each residence hall as needed. Set up and process outbound mail and packages via postage meters or through the Send Suite Live system, as well as UPS and FedEx proprietary shipping systems for pick-up by or delivery to all carriers at the end of the day. Operate postage meters and process special mailings to ensure the correct postage for each class of mail has been applied. Receive and sort all classes of inbound mail and packages. Sort and case mail into mail box slots using our box number system. May be required to pick up mail from campus boxes or mail stops on occasion. Complete departmental mail/postage records as required. Perform customer service duties such as answering phones and email, and fielding inquiries from faculty, staff and students regarding mail and package delivery service. Use the SC Logic package tracking software and TZ Asset Manager software as need to assist with package inquiries. Advise departments concerning mail classifications and postage rates as needed. Required Qualifications:
