This individual will be primarily responsible for Front Office Receptionist duties, with a focus on being the receptionist for our Occupational Health department. The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors, check them in and out for their occupational health needs. Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, including follow-up appointments. Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member. Provide administrative support for the Occupational Health department, including filing, faxing, and scanning documents. Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance-related questions and concerns. Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room. Assist other staff members with various administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a medical receptionist or similar role preferred Prior experience with drug screens and DOT physicals preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance terminology is a plus.
Physical Demands:
The Medical Receptionist – Occupational Health role may require sitting or standing for periods, as well as some light lifting and bending.
