Emergi-Pet is looking for a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Emergency Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for pet owners in need of urgent medical attention, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our patients receive timely and compassionate care. This position requires someone who can handle high-stress situations with empathy, communicate effectively, and maintain a calm and welcoming environment in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Responsibilities :
Greet and assist clients, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and professional atmosphere. Answer incoming phone calls and emails, providing accurate information and handling appointment scheduling for emergency cases. Manage emergency situations with calmness and efficiency, coordinating with the veterinary team to prioritize patient care. Collect and process client and pet information, including medical histories and payment details. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our veterinary software system. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and well-stocked. Handle client inquiries regarding emergency care protocols, treatment plans, and billing. Process payments, including insurance claims, as required. Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the veterinary team.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or veterinary certification is a plus. Prior experience in a customer service or receptionist role, ideally in a veterinary or medical setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with anxious pet owners. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, especially during emergencies. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and basic medical procedures is preferred but not required. Proficiency in computer software and data entry. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as emergency care requires availability at all times.
