Full Job Description Purpose Statement:
We are seeking a warm, organized, and service-minded individual to serve as the first point of contact for our church office. This part-time role combines front desk responsibilities with general office support to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment.
Qualifications:
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple calls and visitors efficiently and professionally. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. Comfortable using office equipment such as multi-line phones, fax machines, and courier services. Friendly, service-oriented demeanor. Must be a member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church or actively pursuing membership.•
Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area at all times. Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously—ideally within three rings. Transfer calls to the appropriate staff member promptly; ensure no caller remains on hold for more than 30 seconds. Take accurate messages when staff are unavailable and place them in the appropriate mail tray. Greet all walk-in guests warmly and professionally. Determine the purpose of their visit and assist accordingly: Notify staff of guests with appointments. Inform staff when guests arrive without appointments. Offer refreshments if wait times are extended. Notify the Office Manager when stepping away from the reception desk. Prepare and send outgoing express mail; arrange courier pickups as needed. Fax church materials upon request. Oversee and maintain office supply inventory; ensure essential items are stocked and reorder needs are communicated promptly. Receive, log, and distribute incoming packages and deliveries to the appropriate team members or departments. Provide general office support including organization tasks, preparing letters or cards for church members, and documenting prayer needs. (
