Position Description Bluebird Kids Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate and Front Desk Associate with a patient and family-first mindset . The Front Desk Associate will work alongside our mission-based provider team to assist with patient care, perform necessary administrative tasks and ensure the smooth operation of our pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong patient care skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in working with children and their families.
Essential Job Responsibility:
1. Check patients in/out and manage patient flow 2. Updates patient tracking in EMR. 3. Notifies patients of and promotes the patient portal. 4. Verifies forms are filled out completely using the online registration system. Reconcile forms if needed. Monitors completion of patient forms and ensures sufficient documentation prior to patients leaving office. 5. Maintains accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information by verifying this information at each patient encounter. 6. Scans insurance cards and driver’s licenses as needed. 7. Schedules patient appointments within operational standards and documents appropriately. 8. Completes insurance verification up to 3 days prior to patients visit to determine coverage. 9. Collects copays, deductibles, coinsurance and past due balances prior to the patient being seen. 10. Scans documents. 11. Keeps Front Desk and Waiting Room clean and sanitized per practice standards. 12. Answer the telephone in a warm, friendly manner. 13. Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards. 14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Pediatric front office experience preferred
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology 2. Basic computer operations and

Variety of walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Occasional need to lift/carry/move up to 50 pounds of equipment. Management of high-paced patient flow and related stressors.
