Veterinary Receptionist 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Spring Hill, FL 34606 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in welcoming pet owners and their furry companions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to pay close attention to details as this is a position requires both multitasking and following a series of expected steps as well as using veterinary terminology to assure consistent animal care. As the first point of contact for clients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. An excellent sense of humor is well appreciated as is the ability to show compassion during difficult conversations. The hours require 3 long weekdays from 7:45AM until close and 4 to 4.5 hours on Saturday. Duties Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, providing exceptional customer service. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date. Answer busy phones providing personal service rather than an automated system. Assist in managing inventory of supplies and medications. Provide basic information by liaising with the rest of the veterinary team to provide answers to client questions. Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed. Communicate effectively with clients about their pets’ needs, treatments, and follow-up care. Utilize knowledge of veterinary terminology to assist in client education regarding procedures and health concerns. Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas: Medical collection processes within a veterinary or healthcare setting. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices to provide informed advice to pet owners. Experience working in a veterinary clinic, kennel, or similar environment is preferred. Understanding of laboratory procedures related to veterinary care. Skills in acquiring basic history of the patient. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and animal restraint methods. Experience in working with the public can be beneficial for client interactions. Proficiency in veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the clinic.
