Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our multidisciplinary care team. The MA will support wound care, primary care, behavioral health clinics , and provide home-based care services. This role requires clinical and administrative expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Assist in wound care procedures (cleaning, dressing, debridement prep, documentation) Conduct basic clinical assessments: vitals, weight, height, blood glucose, etc. Administer medications and injections as directed by providers Assist providers with physical exams and minor procedures Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection Prepare exam rooms, clean and sterilize instruments and equipment Support behavioral health visits by coordinating care and monitoring vitals Perform in-home patient visits, ensuring accurate documentation and care delivery
Administrative Duties:
Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR/EMR) Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, specialists, and care teams Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program CPR/BLS certification
- required Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- required for home visits Strong EMR/EHR experience (eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar)
Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of wound care procedures and infection control Familiarity with behavioral health practices and trauma-informed care Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Ability to work independently and collaboratively Compassionate and respectful toward diverse patient populations
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods Lift and carry up to 30 pounds Travel to patient homes as needed
