Job Purpose:
Serve as the primary point of contact for sales and customer service at the Friends of Boca Grande Community Center. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation. Works under the general direction of the Business and Facilities Manager. Essential Job Functions /
Responsibilities:
Welcome guests and customers by greeting them in person or on the phone; answer and direct inquiries. Listen and understand customer inquiries and ticket-related requests, responding promptly and politely with a personalized experience. Maintain a physical presence in the office during program hours. Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, scanning, filing, and printing. Process ticket sales and memberships through the Blackbaud/Altru software system; drive sales through upselling. Handle cash, checks, and credit cards; reconcile and balance the sales drawer at the end of each day. Keep program flyers and marketing materials stocked in display areas. Stay familiar with community events and work with the Community Center team to act as a resource for Boca Grande happenings. Multi-task effectively with frequent interruptions and remain calm and patient with customers who require tactful service.
Additional Tasks:
Assist with database management, including adding, editing, and updating records. Help prepare donor acknowledgment letters; support donor event planning and fundraising efforts as directed. Monitor office and program supplies/materials. Support Program staff with waitlists, door lists, and other administrative tasks. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in customer service or a related field.
People Skills:
Strong customer service focus; team player; adaptable and professional representative of Friends of Boca Grande.
Language:
Clear and concise verbal and written communication; strong attention to detail.
Math:
Ability to calculate discounts, tax, and percentages; proficient with a calculator.
Reasoning:
Able to resolve practical problems and handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
Computer Skills:
Proficient with both Mac and PC; experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); database management skills a plus.
Licensing:
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
Physical Demands:
This role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
