- Crestview A Government Entity in Crestview is seeking a Receptionist to start immediately.
The ideal candidate would provide general information concerning all aspects of permitting, planning and development to developers, builders, and the general public.
Job Responsibilities:
Issuing permits of all types and scheduling inspections.
Communicating with property owners and contractors in discussing requests concerning land use activities; handles large volume of incoming phone calls.
Ensuring compliance with the Land Development Code, Comprehensive Plan and ordinances.
Providing information and documentation concerning permitting, inspections, planning, and development to developers, builders, and the public; issues development and construction permits.
Making quick decisions in reference to ordinances and policies concerning approval of development permits.
Scheduling inspections and maintaining inspection records.
Receive and maintain various plans and applications, review them for completeness and accuracy, and distribute them as required.
Verifying for accuracy in all documentation (i.e., addresses, certified foundation surveys, setbacks, easements, alleyways, right of ways, plats, maps, plat books, and plot plans).
Heavy Data Entry (i.e., Certificate of Occupancy, entering data on permits and other related reports).
Prepare, update, and/or maintain various databases and/or related departmental records and files.
Manage department files, including reviewing them for accuracy and making adjustments to data as required.
Working collaboratively with other county departments toward the goal of project approval, performing tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Assisting other departmental employees by relaying and requesting information as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school graduate + college or relevant trade education & graduation.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in an office or customer service environment
Physically able to lift, push, carry up to 20 pounds
Excellent spelling and grammar, heavy data entry with no spelling corrections
A positive attitude
A valid driver’s license
An updated Florida Notary
Organized with excellent attention to detail
Reliable and efficient
Customer service oriented with interpersonal skills
Positive with accurate spelling and grammar
Able to type 25-35 WPM
Compensation and Benefits:
This position pays $14.50/hour
Schedule is Monday through Friday

This assignment is considered “Contract’ and will be determined by the clients needs.
