Hotel Receptionist 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 16 Penny Lane, Hampton Bays, NY 11946 Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our team for a few hours a week. Ideally, you live locally, and are looking for a few hours of work a week, and are happy with a flexible schedule that could change week to week. This could be from now through the end of summer, or from now through Halloween. This role requires good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact with guests. Candidate must be willing to take a one hour CPR course (cost covered by us) to become certified in CPR, and then must be capable of taking on the responsibility of being the designated associate on site, in the very unlikely case of an emergency. The property has a swimming pool for guest use, and the board of health requires a responsible CPR trained adult to be on site at all times. This is NOT a lifeguard position. Responsibilities The property’s bookings are all managed by a third party company, so there is very limited time spent on guest reservations. Guest check themselves into their rooms with a keyless entry code, and check themselves out when they leave. However, there are sometimes issues with the system, and the new Hotel Receptionist will be on site to deal with guests as needed. Open the Pool – check chemical levels, straighten up the pool furniture, open the umbrellas, ensure pool is clean, towels on location and there are no unsafe conditions. Ensure Ice Bags are filled, and then replenished daily in the Freezer for guest use Clean bikes, check tires and sanitize helmets. Maintain lawn area seating and games in their correct locations. Check housekeepers are leaving the rooms in perfect condition for each guest’s arrival. When all above tasks are complete, be on site for the occasional guest inquiry. The Hotel Receptionist will have a lot of down time, when they can read a book, be on their computer etc., As long as they are in the office, or close to the Pool, and immediately available for any guest needs. There may be some other administrative tasks that evolve with the job. Experience Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required We are willing to train anyone who is smart, has a good personality, is good with people, and is willing to learn.
