Job Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, helping to create a warm, professional, and welcoming environment. This role includes managing front desk operations, answering phones, supporting administrative tasks, updating student records, and addressing minor student health needs (training provided). The Front Desk Receptionist is a key part of the school’s team, balancing hospitality with efficiency and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk and Communication Greet all visitors with kindness and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming school environment. Answer, screen, and route incoming calls and messages in a courteous and timely manner. Manage incoming mail and packages. Communicate important information to staff, students, and families as needed. Administrative and Recordkeeping Support File, organize, and maintain student records and administrative documents. Update student information in the student information system regularly and accurately. Support enrollment, registration, and attendance tracking processes. Assist with routine office functions including document preparation and supply inventory. Student Support and Minor Medical Needs Provide basic care for students with minor health concerns (e.g., ice packs, temperature checks), under the guidance of school policy and training. Maintain records of student visits to the office for health-related needs. Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns. Technology and Software Use Utilize Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel for office documentation and communications. Operate within the student information system for data entry and reporting. Help troubleshoot minor office technology issues and communicate needs for service.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish (required). Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience in an educational or customer service setting is a plus. Calm, friendly, and professional demeanor with children and adults. Commitment to confidentiality and a respectful school culture.
Work Environment:
Located in the school’s front office with frequent interaction with students, staff, and the public. Some standing, sitting, and light lifting required. May involve occasional extended hours for school events. Benefits 403-
