Front Desk Receptionist Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, PA 611 Mocksville Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Employee will be friendly and detail orientated. Duties will include but are not limited to checking patients in and out. 2. Scheduling patients for all appointment types. 3. Collecting copays/balances, current insurance cards, insurance eligibility, and filing claims, scanning all applicable paperwork into patients chart. 4. Following all safety and sanitation guidelines for self, staff and patients. 5. Effective communication with all staff and patients 6. Working as a team player with fellow front desk members 7. Employee will be flexible and have no scheduling time constraints. Schedules can start as early as 7:00AM and end as late as 6:00pm. Saturday morning rotation required. 8. Full time requirement is 40 hours a week. 9.

REQUIRED

COVID vaccine, flu vaccine, and up to date on hepatitis B vaccine. This position will be a backup for an RDC front desk position in the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Individual must be able to meet the criteria for working in that location from time to time. This is for an RDC location inside the hospital.

Education:

High school diploma.

Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:

1. HIPPA Privacy Rules 2. Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments. 3. Knowledge of manual/computerized scheduling systems. 4. Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques. 5. Knowledge of Conflict Resolution 6. Knowledge in Medical Insurance 7. Account Balances 8. Collection of Payments 9.

Excel Spreadsheets Skills:

1. Skill in dealing with masses of information in organized manner. 2. Skill in using computer and medical records software. 3. Skill in communicating effectively with physicians/clinicians about scheduling preferences. 4. Skill in manipulating several different schedules at once. 5. Skill in using

Critical Thinking Abilities:

1. Ability to alphabetize and put information (materials, forms, etc.) into chronological order. 2. Ability to schedule time and assignments effectively. 3. Ability to multitask effectively, dealing with phone calls, staff, patient communication and others pleasantly. 4. Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients about appointments in all circumstances including when they are ill or have an emergency. 5. Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately. 6. Adapting to busy high-volume environments

Equipment Operated:

Range of medical records equipment and supplies, including computer hardware/software, manual files, scanners, and printers.

Work Environment:

Pleasant and comfortable offices. Extensive computer work, face to face contact with patients, answering of telephones. High volume, organized, busy environment. Implementing OSHA Standards staff may be subjected to assist in screening patients before entry into facility.
