Front Desk Receptionist/Administrative Assistant Council on Aging in Union County 1401 Skyway Drive, Monroe, NC 28110 PT (Part-time, 24 hours per week)
Hours:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30-4:30 Job Description Perform the duties necessary for the function of an efficient and professional office including greeting and assisting the community, clients, staff, donors, and volunteers (in-person and by phone).
Qualifications:
Have a genuine concern, understanding and sensitivity to older adults needs, interests, and unique circumstances. Candidate should have skills to maintain professional office routine. Required skills include computer competency in Word, Excel, Gmail, Google docs and sheets, excellent organizational skills combined with a courteous and warm people-skills. Ability to work with elderly persons in a compassionate, understanding manner Interact professionally with staff, volunteers, and the general public Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills Possess good spelling and writing ability Prioritize work tasks and work independently Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently Exercise judgment to handle confidential issues
General Responsibilities:
Staff reception desk and respond promptly to visitors, incoming calls, and emails Provide accurate information or transfer calls to appropriate staff Provide clerical support promptly and efficiently to all COA staff Accept and distribute donations of durable medical equipment and incontinence supplies, which includes cleaning and sanitizing equipment. Operate and maintain copier/printer, phone, and computer Have knowledge of and follow established COA organizational policies and procedures
Specific Responsibilities:
Be the first contact for the public and community partners by answering phones and in-person visitors. Transfer and refer calls/emails to the appropriate staff members Prepare accurate correspondence as needed in a timely manner Read and respond appropriately to general email Maintain accurate and current participant files Maintain and regularly update intake logs Manage the Equipment Loan program by maintaining an accurate inventory list and equipment loan log. Accepting and distributing donations of incontinence supplies and durable medical equipment to the public Cleaning/sanitizing of durable medical equipment donations Maintain cleanliness of lobby/common areas and restock/neaten brochure stands as needed Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment Perform other duties as may be assigned About Council on Aging in
