As the face of the Workforce One Careers Center in the Bronx, this individual sets the tone for the job seeker experience. The receptionist will be responsible for the daily operation of the front office and manage the inflow of visitors looking for career support. This individual will be a master juggler and lead with warmth, positivity, and empathy. The Awesome Things You’ll Do Manage Front Desk, Greet, take messages and ensure all who enter feel welcomed Using a multi-line switchboard, answers and appropriately routes internal and external calls. Receives and greets visitors and directs them to their proper destination. Responds to routine inquiries from the public and refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests and other inquiries or complaints to appropriate staff. Perform various clerical tasks, including sorting mail, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars. Our Must Haves HS/GED equivalent minimum requirement Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures Knowledge of telephone techniques and etiquette. Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, computer and other standard office equipment. Handle a high volume of calls with courtesy, speed and accuracy. Maintain effective working relationships with staff; communicate with the public in a courteous professional manner using tact, patience. Work independently with general supervision; understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Prefer candidates with minimum 3 years of front desk experience with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel, word, etc. Participate in required professional development and trainings as assigned or approved for professional job growth.
