FRONT DESK HOSTEL RECEPTIONIST

to join our team. Qualified candidates must maintain both a professional demeanor and character. This is a full time position at a Hostel/Boutique Hotel in East Williamsburg. The full time weekly schedule is mixed between different shift hours: (Weekend availability is required

• Schedule is likely Wednesday to Sunday) 10am
• 6pm 4pm
• 12am

Job Responsibilities:

• Checking guests in and out of the hostel
• serving as a general information desk with knowledge of New York sites, recommendations, and directions while providing excellent customer service
• Responding to e-mails and phone inquiries
• Researching weekly activities and events for guests
• Maintaining hotel rates and allocations with respect to the availability
• Preparing for the next day’s guest arrivals
• Overseeing daily hostel operations and handling all types of situations
• Basic building maintenance and room checks
• coordinate issues with housekeeping and maintenance teams
• Contributing to our constant growth by working on various projects that can improve our hostel’s image

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal skills, as this job requires frequent interaction and communication
• Highly organized, attention to detail, courteous, friendly, professional and amiable
• Must be hands on and ready to help in other areas if needed and able to fulfill other duties
• Previous hospitality/hostel experience is a plus
• Multiple languages is a plus
