experience level: entry level job title: Associate Receptionist We are a busy, neighborhood veterinary hospital located in Brooklyn Heights seeks to hire the right individual to join our reception team! The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, a team player, customer-service minded, and demonstrates a passion for problem-solving. This individual absolutely must love helping people and their animals while maintaining a positive and professional attitude while doing so. Above all else, the ideal veterinary receptionist candidate must exhibit the following: Excellent customer service skills Professional and friendly communication skills in person, on the phone, and by email Proficiency with computers The ability to work on several projects at once A strong work ethic A drive to help people and an ability to educate clients Scheduling flexibility (some nights and some weekends) Cleanliness and professionalism Knowledge of the following is considered a huge plus: Impromed Animal care practices and veterinary procedures Animal nutrition Laboratory procedures Veterinary terminology and/or medical record management
Duties Include:
Greeting and checking in clients Scheduling appointments and procedures in accordance with the hospital’s protocol Answering phones, responding to emails, and answering questions Maintaining patient information such as general client information, medical history, and insurance information Charging clients Providing general support to the veterinary hospital For individuals without experience, compensation starts at $18 per hour. For individuals with experience, the rate is commensurate with said experience. Upon successful completion of probation, candidates are eligible for paid time off, health insurance including dental and vision, a contribution to their retirement account, a staff pet feeding program, and more!
