Receptionist Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center 476 Christian Herald Road, Valley Cottage, NY 10989 We are Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center , located in the heart of Rockland County, New York. We are recruiting for a full-time Receptionist for the day shift. The reception desk serves as the primary point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This role is crucial for maintaining daily operations smoothly and for creating a warm, welcoming environment for all who enter the facility. Key Responsibilities Collaboration with Nursing staff, administrative Staff, and others. Greet and assist a steady flow of visitors, ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Ensure the reception area is welcoming. Answer and transfer phone calls, taking messages as needed by residents and staff. Update daily schedules for resident activities, healthcare appointments, and staff meetings. Prepare and distribute informational materials for residents and their families. Assist with administrative projects, such as organizing files, scheduling transportation, or coordinating volunteer visits. Respond promptly and calmly during emergencies, following facility protocols. Maintain an organized, inviting reception area that reflects the values of the nursing home. Serve as a main contact for residents and their families. Respond to questions, share information about facility services and schedules, and relay messages to and from residents as needed. Other assigned duties. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or a senior living environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic knowledge of office equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment. Ability to handle difficult situations with confidence and professionalism, exercising sound judgment, especially in emergencies. Adherence to privacy laws and regulations regarding resident information and facility operations.
