Receptionist South Shore Womens Care Lindenhurst, NY 11757 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility by providing exceptional administrative support and patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff. hours, with per diem/on-call work:

9:00 AM•4:00 PM This allows for flexibility, with additional coverage if needed. Duties Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services. Process patient intake forms and verify insurance information. Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed. Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts and documentation for appointments. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate patient care and streamline operations. Skills The successful candidate should possess the following skills: Proficient in medical terminology, with knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with various medical specialties, including PICU, dermatology, medical-surgical, and inpatient care. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience in providing medical administrative support within a hospital or clinical setting is preferred. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office software.
