$31.7K – $36.4K a year 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Entry level Full Job Description Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a front desk receptionist to join its Charleston, SC office. The receptionist is responsible for receiving calls, clients, vendors and deliveries and directing them to the appropriate individual within the firm. This role also performs other related responsibilities, including assisting with firm events, ordering catering, conference and parking scheduling and records assistance. This role also maintains positive contact with attorneys, clients and staff and observes confidentiality of client matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives incoming telephone calls; directs calls to appropriate party. Operates a multi-line console in order to receive and relay incoming, outgoing and intra-system calls. Takes and relays accurate messages. Operates a computer for assistance in relaying messages. Meets and greets clients and visitors to the office and ensures proper clearance and routing of such parties in accordance with firm policies; notifies supervisor and/or property manager of difficult situations. Validates parking tickets. Receives deliveries and routes them to proper recipient. Schedules and maintains records for utilization of conference rooms. Assists with firm events, including food and beverage orders. Additional responsibilities include assistance with firm records, as needed. Performs overflow work to assist other departments, when requested, with basic clerical projects such as stuffing envelopes, collating ancillary materials, etc. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of this interactive position.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent. Candidates must have the ability to handle multiple calls, visitors and requests under time constraints. Interpersonal skills and professional demeanor necessary to communicate in person and on the telephone; effectively follow instructions from a diverse group of attorneys, clients and staff; and provide information with courtesy and tact. Must be able to handle deadlines and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Also must have the ability and willingness to work well under pressure and at times more than the standard work schedule in order to accomplish responsibilities of the position.
Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
Work Hours:
