Front Desk Receptionist

NEUROLOGY CLINIC, P.C.

Cordova, TN

SCOPE AND PURPOSE

The Front Desk Associate is an essential part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for greeting and checking in patients. This role must uphold a high level of customer service. The Front Desk Associate plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience and smooth clinic operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner upon arrival at the clinic. 2. Verify patient information, update records, and complete the check-in process. 3. Ensure benefit verification process for current service date has been completed. 4. Provide patients with necessary forms and assist with their completion as necessary. 5. Collect co-pay as well as any outstanding self-pay balance. 6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the clinic’s EHR system. 7. Handle inquiries from patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding clinic services, appointments, and procedures. 8. Assist patients with the check-out process, including scheduling follow-up appointments as necessary. 9. Ensure that all patient questions are answered before they leave the clinic. 10. Consistently monitor waiting room for potential customer service issues or needs. 11. Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department. 12. Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. 13. Maintain a clean and organized reception area. 14. Collaborate with clinical staff, healthcare providers, and other administrative personnel to ensure efficient clinic operations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other duties as assigned by the Patient Access Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or a related role, preferably in healthcare setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and some dexterity in operating office equipment

Unavoidable Hazards:

The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards Sensory (ADA)

Requirements:

The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking abilities
