A Typical Day
The Credit Business Controls Specialist assists in the development of a mortgage centric business controls compliance program that contemplates internal requirements and industry standards. As the Controls Specialist, you will act as a liaison amongst internal partners and provide recommendations on policies and procedures across all Fulfillment functions.
The Business Controls Specialist will:
Participate in Credit Business Controls, Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Compliance Committee functions and prepare monthly presentations
Partner with MFD fulfillment to avoid material risk that could result in a repurchase request from an investor
Develop and monitor Business Controls reports and recommend remediation as appropriate
Address operational risks within the Fulfillment process and ensure that changes in process are contemplated holistically prior to implementation, be seen as a SME for impact and improvements; reliable source for what is in play across multiple channels
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
What You’ll Bring
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years experience in management reporting, developing policies & procedures, dealing with complexity, problem solving, legal compliance, knowledge of Reg Z, Reg X & Dodd Frank.
Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
