Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a FT experienced, energetic and dedicated Switchboard Operator to join our growing Business Office team!
General Summary:
This position is responsible for answering all external and internal calls through the main switchboard. Responsible for daily mail, deposit and pick up. Posts payments accurately and balances deposits. Assists billing when needed. A ssisting patients, visitors, and staff by providing directions, answering questions, and directing them to the appropriate areas or departments within the hospital. This role also includes managing patient information, ensuring confidentiality, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of hospital locations and services.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient and Visitor Assistance:
Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct individuals to the appropriate areas or departments within the hospital. +
Information Management:
Maintain awareness of hospital layouts, services, and procedures to effectively assist patients and visitors. +
Confidentiality:
Protect patient information and maintain privacy according to established protocols. +
Record Keeping:
Assist with filing and retrieving patient records when needed. +
Communication:
Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and helpful manner. +
Problem Solving:
Handle minor issues or complaints from patients or visitors, escalating more complex situations as needed. +
Wheelchair Assistance:
Provide assistance with wheelchairs to patients or visitors as needed. +
Stay Current:
Keep abreast of changes in hospital procedures, policies, and services.
Experience:
General office duties-healthcare office environment is helpful. Must have worked with public or in customer service. Provide excellent customer service to patients and other stakeholders.
Education:
