Pleasantly assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees professionally with questions or directions. Education Required – High School diploma or equivalent Work Experience Required – 1 year experience in customer service Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent customer service skills with ability to remain calm, pleasant, and helpful in high pressure situations. Strong time management skills with ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to effectively work both independently and with a team. Job Duties Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner. Answers all incoming calls quickly and pleasantly, always clearly identifying self and Ochsner greeting. Transfers patients and guests to appropriate department. Verifies and registers vendors following policy procedures. Reviews all codes regularly and prepared to call codes as directed or per policy. Pages/beeps as per policy, including but not limited to providers on call. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
