Full Job Description Summary:

The Fast Pass Tag & Title Specialist I is responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical activities, financial tasks, and technical tasks related to Motor Vehicle Title and Registration Transactions, Driver’s License Transactions and Reinstatement Transactions, including but not limited to tax collection, expedited titles, and inventory will be part of the operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

Follow standard protocol for all state regulations regarding vehicle transactions, driver’s license transactions and reinstatement transactions including, but not limited to, policies and procedures for: Processing motor vehicle titles and registration, driver’s license and reinstatement transactions and services. Receiving payments for motor vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement services. Accepting tax payments and filing appropriate documentation for all provided and processed. Enter and retrieve information from the computer, answer a multi-line phone system, and follow up with phone calls to customers when necessary. Perform research on designated business websites to successfully complete job-related transactions. Examine, proofread, and verify all documents submitted by the customer for all transactions for motor vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement to determine authenticity. Prepare documents related to vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement. Enter data from the required document for motor vehicle, driver’s license, and reinstatement transactions into the Department of Public Safety, Office of Motor Vehicle system to print vehicle registrations, driver’s license, or clearance letter for completion. Execute the daily cash-out process and daily shipping process. Scan and save all processed transactions in the Office of Motor Vehicles imaging system as record for microfilm. Prepare daily reports for submission to the Office of Motor Vehicles. Team members with notary commission must follow all state regulations and be diligent in verification of identity and documentation. Team members may be required to perform the duties of courier, that includes the delivery and pick up of documentation, registration, and license plates from clients within the region and additional runs required for daily operations.

Technical Capacity must be computer, database, and spreadsheet proficient with the ability to learn and use a computer program quickly, efficiently, and consistently. Critical Thinking must be able to accurately complete daily transactions and exercise discretion and independent judgement in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision yet recognize when to ask for assistance from the designated support team. Attention to Detail must be detail-oriented, as this is a state-monitored and audited business. Collaboration/Teamwork must work well with others as part of a team. Flexibility must be able to multitask, prioritize, and reprioritize when necessary. Punctuality & Attendance must arrive promptly before the start of the shift, have reliable transportation, and communicate early if problems arise.
