My neighbor next door, who faces the same direction, solved this beautifully — he planted trees with long trunks that umbrella out at the top, perfectly blocking the houses while still showcasing the lovely pond. His view and mine are like night and day! See pictures. The first one’s are my view, then the others are his. Clearly he can see the pretty pond but the trees block the houses across the pond. I would love to create a similar look on my side. I believe his trees are called Ligustrum. However, my soil is mostly sand, and past attempts at planting trees didn’t work well. I am sure we will have to dig a BIG hole and get some decent dirt to go around the trees. This time, I need to purchase fairly mature trees and have them properly planted by someone who really knows what they’re doing, but I’m worried about the cost, so I’m hoping to find someone who: Truly understands trees and how to plant them properly, especially in sandy soil Might know where to get a good deal on healthy, mature trees Can offer a reasonable price for collecting them and planting.
