• Forestry Division is hiring aSpecial MEO who will ne involved in all Forestry Department Operationsand performs under the supervision of the City Arborist who assigns workand areas of responsibility.

This is a 40 Hour work week position withmandatory overtime and emergency response.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE

Participates in the removal and pruning of city trees. Operate equipmentused in Forestry Department operations. Participates in maintaining citytree nursery. Participates in the planting, transplanting, andestablishment of trees, bushes, and shrubs. Responsible for the safe andproficient operation of all Forestry Department equipment andtechniques. Participates in the maintenance and repairs of all ForestryDepartment equipment. Participates in the care of all city trees aspertaining to arboricultural standards and the Public Shade Tree Laws.

Participates in the performance of aerial work for other citydepartments such as holiday light installation and aerial inspections ofpublic facilities. Participates in continuing education to maintaincertifications and licenses. Participates in all facets of snowoperations. Must be available for overtime. All other related tasks asassigned by the City Arborist and/or Superintendent of Public Works.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Massachusetts CDL Class B License. ValidMassachusetts CDL Class A.

• Preferred Must possess Massachusetts 1CHoisting License within six (6) months. Electrical Hazard AwarenessProgram (EHAP) Certification. First Aid and CPR Certified.
• RequiredHigh School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Required Or a minimum of one (1) yearoperating Heavy Equipment Minimum one (1) year experience in municipalpublic work?s operation.
• Required Or equivalent combination ofeducation, experience, skills and training which provides thee requiredknowledge, skill, and abilities, may be substituted for specificeducational/experience requirement.
