County Road 39, Bay Minette, AL 36507 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Agricultural Support Associate/ Barn Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of agricultural practices. This role involves working in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the barn and the well-being of the animals. The Barn Hand will play a crucial role in ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health. Maintain cleanliness in the barn and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff. Operate and maintain heavy equipment and power tools as needed for barn operations. Assist with greenhouse management, including weed prevention, basic landscaping. Utilize basic math skills for inventory tracking and feed measurements. Supervise other staff or volunteers when necessary to ensure tasks are completed effectively. Handle animals safely and humanely, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation. Requirements Mechanical knowledge is essential for operating equipment safely and effectively. Experience with animal husbandry practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with greenhouse operations is a plus. Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely. Basic math skills for managing supplies and feed quantities. Strong animal handling skills to ensure the safety of both staff and animals. Previous experience supervising others is beneficial but not required. Must be physically fit to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
