Farm Helper The Hope Farm 915 Nichols Ave, Fairhope, AL 36532 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for farming and a willingness to learn various aspects of farm operations. This role involves hands-on work in diverse environments, including greenhouses, fields, and barns. The Farm Hand will assist in the daily operations of the farm, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops in accordance with seasonal schedules. Operate and maintain farm equipment, including forklifts and irrigation systems. Supervise and train new farm workers as needed to ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational standards. Perform basic repairs on equipment and machinery to minimize downtime. Manage greenhouse activities, including watering, fertilizing, and pest control. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring a safe working environment. Assist with the care of livestock, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health conditions when applicable (equine experience is a plus). Utilize basic math skills for measuring ingredients or calculating areas for planting. Requirements Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not required. Basic math skills for performing calculations related to farming tasks. Familiarity with greenhouse operations is advantageous. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus. Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Experience with irrigation systems and techniques is beneficial. Welding skills are a nice-to-have for equipment repairs. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team in various weather conditions.
