Job Summary:

The Production team member in Live Hang performs avariety of manual, repetitive tasks to humanely move live turkeysto the hanging line in preparation for stunning and euthanizingprocess.

Essential duties include:

Perform manual, repetitive tasksto open bird cages and move live turkeys into moving shackles to beslaughtered; perform repetitive tasks without the assistance oftools, train to proficiency to rotate through jobs and performmultiple tasks within the department; perform any job in thedepartment at the supervisor’s discretion. Assigned job duties maychange and vary day-to-day depending upon production needs.

WorkingConditions:

Working conditions vary by department but mayinclude:

Temperature fluctuations from hot (ambient outsidetemperature during summer) to very cold (40 degrees Fahrenheit toambient outside temperature during winter)Damp-to-wet conditions inthe areaLoud/noisy environment (86 – 99 dB)Exposure to live birds,raw meat and associated parts, including but not limited to organs,blood, and fecesWork with loud and noisy machineryWork with oraround chemicals/fumes/pungent odorsMandatory overtime or weekendworkThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeksduring the months of October and November, which includes working 7days per week

Physical Requirements:

Standing (up to 8 hours or moreper day)Lifting, carrying, climbing, – twisting, pushing, andpulling up to sixty (60) poundsAbility to grip, grasp, and liftrepetitively through the course of the workdayOperating handheldand/or mechanical machineryAbility to wear all personal protectiveequipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but not limited toeye and hearing protection, knuckle pads, gloves, hard hat,hairnet, apron, rain suit, and sleevesWe embrace equal opportunityemployment.
