Job Description
Breeder Service Tech 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Pocahontas, AR 72455 Breeder Service Technician – Reports to: Breeder or Breeder/Hatchery Manager The Breeder Service Tech is responsible for producing quality hatching eggs at a competitive cost.
Job Functions:
Conduct all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco’s vision, mission and core values Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment. Ensure that housing, roads and equipment are maintained to Peco standards. Ensure that farms are managed according to Peco standards. Ensure that hatching eggs are handled correctly. Weigh, flesh, blood test, and collect fat correctly and on schedule. Works with feed mill in ordering the proper feed and in the volume needed. Ensure that proper water and feed withdrawal is practiced and house is ready for catching. Make decisions on feed amounts that will result in maximum production at best cost. Follow animal welfare and biosecurity programs and ensure that Producers are trained and following these standards. Provide information for reports properly and on schedule. Monitors and consults with at least 6 breeder contract Producers on the designated service route. Handles various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely. Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.
Physical Demands:
Sitting/standing/walking/driving 100% of the workday. Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions. Lifting various weights on an as needed basis. Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
