Job Duties Plant, pick, wash, and pack produce Harvest, plant, and care for vegetable crops according to specifications Wash bins and load trucks Work quickly and accurately with your hands Clean and pack vegetables and other products according to specifications Demonstrate an attention to detail in all work capacities (training, record keeping, communication) Effectively and quickly do hand labor, including working safely with knives and clippers as needed – fine motor skills needed Prepare and pace themselves to work outdoors including proper clothing (hats), hydration, nutrition and rest Be a team player and willing to work together to get the job done Demonstrate capacity to use a tablet, computer or smartphone for digital record keeping and accurately enter numbers on a spreadsheet. Use scale and complete basic math Communicate with team members to solve problems Record work digitally using a tablet or computer onsite Our farm produces healthy food for individuals at farmers markets, grocery stores, and the best restaurants throughout Northern and Central Florida. This position helps the farm by completing field work like planting and harvesting, maintaining plants in the greenhouse, and working in the packing shed washing, processing, and packing up orders. As part of the Packing Team this job will help clean products that arrive from the field, sort produce from our farm and other farms, pack orders, clean supplies/bins/areas, take inventories, and complete data entries for our work. As part of the Field Team this job will harvest produce, plant transplants, weed crops, and spread hay. This job is 100% outdoors and applicants will need to demonstrate their preparedness for that environment. This job requires a good deal of stooping, bending, lifting, and hand labor. Applicants should have a high attention to detail and be able to adapt easily to variances.

If you don’t hear back from someone you need an answer from, you are proactive in reaching out again) Requirements Positive attitude and take pride in doing quality work Be able to do stoop labor (harvesting or planting from ground level), lift up to 50lbs at a time safely, efficiently perform repetitive tasks, and work outside in inclement weather (rain/wind/heat/cold). Work in a Bilingual English/Spanish environment and demonstrate respect for people of different cultures. Arrive reliably to work on-time, as scheduled. Valid driver’s license preferred but not required. Able to keep up with other team members in terms of productivity Able to work all day in a tobacco-free workplace, no tobacco products are allowed to be consumed on-site. Follow safe food handling training and adhere to health standards for attending work and preventing the spread of communicable diseases Complete and pass a background check Examples of rates of our common crops: collard greens 50-60 bunches/hr, legumes (peas or beans), 12-15lbs/ hr (depending on variety) and okra at 18-22lbs/hr. Cleaning kale or lettuce bunches from bulk at 110-120 bunches/hr, cherry tomatoes cleaning pounds from bulk at 50-60lbs/hour; and cleaning eggs at 24-30doz per hour. Staff working 50 hours or more per two week pay cycle receive $50 in credit per pay cycle to their LFM account. Part time staff working fewer than 50 hours per two week pay cycle will receive a flat rate of $20 credit per pay cycle. Credit can be used to place orders here: . Teammates are required to create an account and encouraged to shop with this credit to enjoy all products from the farm including produce, jams, teas, honey, eggs, and pasture raised meat. 40 hours per year paid sick leave to care for yourself or a family member/loved one for full time (part time workers receive pro-rated sick leave) Monthly health care stipend for workers over 25 hours per week – details are covered in the Unpaid vacation in the fall or winter is negotiable, in coordination with other staff. Successful teammates may also be offered work in other aspects of production such as planting, weeding, irrigation, pruning, or general maintenance. After a successful first year, teammates may have the opportunity to participate in our farm incubator where you can manage your own half to one acre of land and sell your crops through our existing marketing channels.
