Referral by a career center provides program guarantees and protections that may not be available to a worker not referred. Workers must have valid identification for I-9 preparation when they report to the employer location to begin work. The employer may use the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services E-Verify Program to verify employment eligibility. C. Workers referred to this job by a SWA should report to a career center between 5 and 9 work days before the job start date to verify the job start date is the same. Job Offer:
Workers will perform various activities associated with the growing and harvesting of grass/ sod at a commercial turf grass farm. Work hours are determined by crop and weather conditions. The work
day may begin/end earlier or later on any given day and evening, night hours may be required. Workers may be requested to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, and the Sabbath depending on
crop conditions and need. These activities will be performed exclusively in an outdoor environment. Workers will aid in soil preparation, will be sodding large areas, sow grass seed, plant sprigs of sod
grass, cuts, rolls and stacks sod in accordance with supervisor’s instructions. It will be necessary to weed, hoe and propagate. Water, fertilize, spray, monitor, trim, weed, cut, roll & unroll, stack, load,
transport, install and discard sod. Operate mowing equipment or drive a tractor pulling a trailer through the field or between fields and perform any other activities associated with growing grass for
production on a sod farm. Workers will operate farm trucks (one ton and under), forklifts, and tractors in order to complete various tasks. With the tractors they will drag, disk, till soil, and operate sod
specific equipment in the fields. Workers will work with sod planting/seeding equipment, construct and repair pallets for sod, and load and unload empty pallets by hand or with forklift. Prior to seeding
fields, and throughout the cultivation and production of sod, they will clean field of
rocks, roots, limbs, stumps and trees, along with excessive leaves on edges. Miscellaneous cleaning and debris removal from fields and farm. Workers will be required to use pivot and side roll systems,
diesel irrigation pumps. They may also set up and run such irrigation systems, as well as run irrigation lines for long distance use. Cleaning of debris from
ditches may be necessary. Fueling of irrigation equipment along with light maintenance. Workers will be responsible for performing general maintenance around the farm. This will include but not limited
to mowing, trimming, removing weeds, clearing and maintaining fence lines, and maintaining buildings/ yard in good repair. Workers may be required to operate tractors, bobcats, mowers, field vacs,
drags, tillers, rollers. Before any worker is requested to operate any farm equipment, workers will be instructed in the safe operation of the equipment.
Pay:
Florida Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) – $14.77 per hour

Days/Hours:
Monday thru Saturday 7 hours per day and 5 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Work may be offered but not required on Sundays and holidays. Extra work hours may be offered based on weather and other conditions. F. Employer will refund workers living outside commuting distance the reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to report for the first day of work on the 50% date. Will provide workers who complete the contract period the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence to return to place of recruitment or to report to the next H-2A job. G. Housing and Board.
Housing:
Will provide free housing for workers who arrive from outside daily commuting distance.
Family housing is not available.
Meals (Board): Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient
cooking and kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and
dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common
areas shared by all workers. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer will
provide free transportation to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., Purchase
groceries, banking services, shopping).ls.
Housing meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. Rules regarding living accommodations will be found in the Clearance Order. Transportation provided by the employer meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. H. Prohibition against preferential treatment of aliens: The employer’s job offer must offer to U.S. workers no less than the same benefits, wages, and working conditions that the employer is offering, intends to offer, or will provide to H-2A workers. Job offers may not impose on U.S. workers any restrictions or obligations that will not be imposed on the employer’s H-2A workers. This does not relieve the employer from providing to H-2A workers at least the same level of minimum benefits, wages, and working conditions which must be offered to U.S. workers. I.
