This job requires a minimum of three months of verifiable prior experience working on an alligator farm, handling both manual and machine tasks. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Work includes feeding and maintenance of alligators, harvesting of alligators and eggs and returning of wild alligators to marshes. Field prep includes manual shovel work on levees and manual hoeing of weeds, spot spraying and general farm labor. Work also includes tractor driving, water maintenance, fertilizing, planting and harvesting. Workers will help repair and maintain alligator houses, buildings, equipment, farm, fences, fields, levees, marshes, roads and workshop. Workers will load and unload trucks.
Workers must be able to work on their feet in bent positions, stoop, reach and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must be able to lift 80 pounds to a height of 5 feet over the course of the work day. Work is to be done for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform the job. Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning through the heat of the day. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop operations. Saturday work required. Must be in good physical health, able to lift/carry 80 lbs. Must be able to work in excessive humidity and temperatures ranging as high as 110 degree Fahrenheit. Workers should be in good physical health and physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Pay. Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR): $14.77 per hour

Withholding:

Federal Income Tax, Social Security and Medicare, State Income Tax if required, and any deductions agreed to with worker.
Work rules will be found in the Clearance Order. E. Contract period is January 15, 2025 through November 15, 2025.

Hours:

40 hours per week.

Days/Hours:

Monday through Friday 7 hours per day; and Saturday 5 hours per day.
Work may be offered but not required on Sundays and holidays. Extra work hours may be offered based on weather and other conditions. F. Employer will refund workers living outside commuting distance the reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to report for the first day of work on the 50% date. Will provide workers who complete the contract period the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence to return to place of recruitment or to report to the next H-2A job.
Employer supplied transportation meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. G. Housing and Board.

Housing:

Will provide free housing for workers who arrive from outside daily commuting distance.
Family housing is not available and is not a prevailing practice in the area of intended employment.
Meals (Board):
Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. H. Prohibition against preferential treatment of aliens: The employer’s job offer must offer to U.S. workers no less than the same benefits, wages, and working conditions that the employer is offering, intends to offer, or will provide to H-2A workers. Job offers may not impose on U.S. workers any restrictions or obligations that will not be imposed on the employer’s H-2A workers. This does not relieve the employer from providing to H-2A workers at least the same level of minimum benefits, wages, and working conditions which must be offered to U.S. workers. I.
