Referral by a career center provides program guarantees and protections that may not be available to a worker not referred. Workers must have valid identification for I-9 preparation when they report to the employer location to begin work. The employer may use the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services E-Verify Program to verify employment eligibility. C. Workers referred to this job by a SWA should report to a career center between 5 and 9 work days before the job start date to verify the job start date is the same. 2 General Farm Labor/Harvesting
WATERMELON- Perform manual labor to hand cut watermelons. Use hand tools such as shears and knives. Duties also include cleaning, loading, and unloading harvested products, moving farm equipment and forklift . Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Measure, weigh and count products and materials. Examine and inspect containers, materials and products . Clean and maintain work areas. Must assist with all Good Agricultural Practice policies. Perform prolonged bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
Grove Clean-up and duties:
Workers may be required to perform miscellaneous grove clean-up work. These activities may included removing debris, boxes, discarded fruit from fields to clean growing area , pruning, painting trees, repair and or replace irrigation equipment , may maintain fence lines and moving farm equipment .Grove caretake ,plant, land prep: Workers may be required to perform miscellaneous grove clean-up work. These activities may removing debris, boxes, discarded fruit from fields to clean growing area , repair and or replace irrigation equipment ,fertilize, disking fields and may maintain fence lines and moving farm equipment. Worker will go down the fields carrying trays of transplant and plan them individually in the prepared planting bed by bending down and planting the transplants in the ground & tractor field work. Workers performing grove clean-up work will be paid the adverse effect wage rate, the prevailing rate minimum wage rate, the agreed upon collective bargaining wage or the Federal or State minimum wage which ever is higher. Some workers may be required to have a valid CDL class B and passenger endorsements if driver are required to transport workers from housing to work-sites. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications , will be provided to the worker on the day the work commences
Pay:
Florida Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) – $16.23 per hour

Hours:
35 hours per week
Days/Hours:
Monday thru Friday 6 hours per day and 5 hours on Saturday.
Work may be offered but not required on Sundays and holidays. Extra work hours may be offered based on weather and other conditions. F. Employer will refund workers living outside commuting distance the reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to report for the first day of work on the 50% date. Will provide workers who complete the contract period the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence to return to place of recruitment or to report to the next H-2A job. G. Housing and Board.
Housing:
Will provide free housing for workers who arrive from outside daily commuting distance.
Family housing is not available.
Meals (Board): The employer will provide a free and convenient cooking facility and kitchen (including utensils) that will enable the workers to prepare their their own meals. Housing meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. Rules regarding living accommodations will be found in the Clearance Order. Transportation provided by the employer meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. H.
