We are seeking an exceptionally reliable full-time person to provide assistance to our growing staff. We are looking for a candidate for our Jupiter Florida Nursery.

Qualifications:

• Certificate or Degree in Horticulture (Preferred, not mandatory, will consider work experience).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Previous Greenhouse/Nursery Experience.
• Pesticide License (Can obtain upon employment).
• Basic understanding of Inventory Control procedures.
• Understanding of insect and disease identifications.
• Familiarity with greenhouse growing conditions and protocols.
• Familiarity with tissue and soil testing procedures
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Walk, bend, and kneel unassisted.
• Able to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotational schedule.
• Must pass respirator fit test.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• A positive attitude that supports our team’s overall mission and core values.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain pesticide and fertilizer count accuracy according to safety procedures.
• Provide inventory control reports as required.
• Enter data in company computer system and Microsoft apps.
• Apply pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides according to schedule, label instructions, safety procedures, and rules and requirements of various Federal, Provincial, and local regulatory agencies.
• Preparing and Mixing fertilizer and chemicals under the direction of the grower or according to safety procedures.
• Scouting of crops (Working with IPM staff).
• Assisting in crop production and maintenance.
• Problem solving with team members.
• Manage record keeping and growing sheets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Head Grower.

his position will require 40+ hours per week. This job is physically demanding in a fast-paced environment. This job will require weekend work on a rotational schedule. The work environment for this position can be hot and humid with fluctuations in weather patterns.
